Cars in NI is an online vehicle marketplace based in Northern Ireland that connects private sellers and motor dealers with prospective buyers.   • Transaction information: records of payments for listings or subscriptions. Card payments are processed securely by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store your full card details.
  • Communications: messages you send to us or to other users through the site, and customer support enquiries.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, and usage data collected via cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).

3. How we use your information and our lawful basis

  • To create and manage your account and provide our services (performance of a contract).
  • To publish and manage your listings, including admin review and approval before they go live (performance of a contract).
  • To process payments and manage dealer subscriptions (performance of a contract).
  • To communicate with you about your account, listings, and enquiries (legitimate interests / performance of a contract).
  • To improve and secure our website and prevent fraud or misuse (legitimate interests).
  • To send marketing where you have agreed (consent) — you can opt out at any time.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

4. Who we share your information with

  • Other users: when you publish a listing or respond to one, relevant contact details are shared so buyers and sellers can communicate.
  • Service providers: including our payment processor (Stripe), our website host (GoDaddy), and email/communication providers, who process data on our behalf.
  • Authorities: where required by law, or to prevent fraud, protect our rights, or ensure user safety.

We do not sell your personal information.
