1. About us

Cars in NI is an online vehicle marketplace based in Northern Ireland. Cars in NI is a trading name of CarsInNI Ltd, a private limited company registered in Northern Ireland (company number NI741705) with its registered office at 24 Millbank Grove, Ballynahinch, BT24 8WQ. 2. Our role — please read carefully

Cars in NI provides a platform that allows private sellers and motor dealers to advertise vehicles and connect with prospective buyers. We are not a party to any sale or transaction between users. We do not own, inspect, sell, or take possession of any vehicle advertised on the website, and we do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, safety, or legality of any listing. Any contract for the sale or purchase of a vehicle is solely between the buyer and the seller. Buyers are responsible for satisfying themselves about a vehicle before purchase.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the website. You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Listings and approval

All listings are subject to our review and approval before they are published, and we may decline, edit, or remove any listing at our discretion. You are responsible for ensuring your listings are accurate, lawful, and not misleading, and that you have the right to sell the vehicle advertised.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use the website to: post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings; advertise stolen vehicles or vehicles you are not entitled to sell; post unlawful, offensive, or infringing content; harass other users; or interfere with the operation or security of the website. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

6. Fees, payments, and subscriptions

Certain services are paid — for example, fees for private listings and subscription plans for dealers. Applicable fees, payment terms, and any limits (such as the number of listings included) are shown at the point of purchase. Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). Dealer subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled in accordance with the plan terms. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable once a listing is published or a subscription period has begun. At present, listings on Cars in NI are provided free of charge, so no fees or refunds currently apply. This section takes effect only if and when paid listings or dealer subscriptions are introduced, at which point the position above applies. You may cancel a recurring subscription at any time to prevent future charges, and nothing in these Terms affects any statutory cancellation or refund rights you may have as a consumer.

7. Content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of the content you upload, but you grant us a licence to display and promote it on and in connection with the website. The website itself, including its design, branding, and software, is owned by or licensed to Cars in NI and may not be copied or reused without permission.

8. Disclaimers

The website is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that listings are accurate or that the website will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly set out in these Terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cars in NI is not liable for any loss or damage arising from: any transaction or dispute between users; the condition, legality, or description of any vehicle; or your use of (or inability to use) the website. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Cars in NI against any claims, losses, or costs arising from your listings, your use of the website, or your breach of these Terms.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the website at any time if you breach these Terms or where necessary for the proper operation of our service.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
